S.P. Krishnakanth of Indian Theatre produced the Dhanush hit Thiruda Thirudi and the Simbu starrer Manmadhan. Both the films rained success. However, his other ventures did not fructify and he had difficulty in releasing them. So, Dhanush and Simbu have offered to do a film for him to reconstruct his financial position.
