The Fazil-Ilayaraja combination has always spelt screen magic. Fazil’s films like Poove poochoodava, Kadhalukku mariyadhai and Kannukkul nilavu have memorable songs composed by the maestro. Now, they are pairing up again for Laxmi Moviemakers’ offering, Oru naal oru kanavu. The film is shaping up well with the hero Srikanth giving total cooperation to the director. In fact, Fazil is so impressed by the dedication of the young actor that he has decided to cast him in his next film as well. The heroine Sonia Agarwal has also done commendable work. Srikanth and Sonia paired up first for Chaturangam, but for unknown reasons it did not release. So, it will be Oru naal now and Chaturangam later. The music of Oru naal is in Carnatic style and Srikanth had been practicing lip synchronization for his scenes. Hearing him sing, several inmates at the hotel where the crew was staying believed that they had a singer amidst them and knocked at his door. They were in for a surprise when they found Sri instead. It is widely believed that Oru naal’s music will be a trendsetter and mark a milestone in Ilayaraja’s career.
