Vindhiya made her debut in Tamil in Sangamam. The cherubic girl with doe-like eyes did not make a big splash as heroine and was seen as the suffering sister in some films. Then she accepted item number roles but newcomers like Rahasya and Linda put paid to her chances. Unable to stem the downward slide in her career graph, she turned to Bollywood with a change of name.
