However, away from the arc lights, they were really good friends and shared good personal rapport. It is a tribute to the stars’ dedication to the profession that they kept professional rivalry separated from true friendship. However, a disturbing trend emerged when Vijay and Ajith indulged in wordy duels both on-screen and away from it. The spats flew back and forth. Their movies had provocative dialogues against the other guy and the songs were openly contemptuous. Now the storm seems to have blown past as both have mellowed down and vowed to concentrate only on their work and stay away from controversies. Whatever brought this change of thinking, it is good for all concerned.
