Chandramukhi from the Sivaji Productions banner is chugging along. Producer Prabhu and director P. Vasu are slugging it out for the latest Rajini starrer so that it turns out to be a blockbuster.

Amidst the hectic schedule, Prabhu recounted his experiences of the shooting. “Jo (Jyothika) was fabulous. Her dedication is simply superb. She was the first on the sets donning the makeup. She would persist till she felt that the shot had turned out to her satisfaction. She would request for a second take if she was not very happy. Way to go Jo”.

“My father, the legendary Sivaji Ganesan showered love and admiration on Padmashri Kamal whom he considered his artistic heir having literally taught the ropes at his knee on shoots when Kamal was a child artist. Kamal follows in my father’s footsteps in working hard for every character just as my father did his homework for all his roles. My father often referred to Kamal as his eldest son as we( myself and elder brother Ramkumar) were away at Bangalore studying in Bishop Cotton High School. Kamal had the good fortune of spending more time and observing my father at work from close quarters. It was generous of Kamal to have invited me to work with him in Vasoolraja which I thoroughly enjoyed.”

He continues, “My father admired Rajinikanth for his dedication and professionalism. He would compliment that Rajini is a self-made star. For his stature he could be very casual in approach but his discipline is distinct. He even requested the director for a day’s leave to personally invite a few guests to his daughter’s wedding. Such commitment, wonderful!” “He was friendly and even teased me as “producer sir” on the sets. His sense of humour is infectious. I was also touched when he said that it was difficult for him to see my mother without her characteristic bindi on her forehead. Such humanism in such a great star! It’s unbelievable,” concludes Prabhu.
