Charan is the director of hit movies like Amarkalam, Kadhal Mannan, Gemini and Vasoolraja MBBS. Gemini especially proved to be a watershed for both Charan and the hero, Vikram. It was different in treatment and narrative because till then Charan had been popular as the expert in love stories. But in Gemini, the action-packed screenplay took precedence over romance and sentiment. Yet Gemini remains his memorable film to date. His penchant for comedy came to the fore in Vasoolraja. Now, Charan has set up his production house called (what else?) Gemini Productions. He is working on a yet-to-be-titled film with Surya in the lead under this banner.
