Cast: Ravi
Krishna, Nadeesha, Vijay,
Nazar, Rajan P Dev, Nalini,
Seetha, Sreeman, etc…
Direction:
S A Chandrasekar.
Story: Shoba
Chandrasekar.
Music: Vijay
Antony.
This typical Chandrasekar
movie would have been a
trend setter, but crapes
up fully in the final touch.
This is the description
of Sukran, the recently
launched film starred by
Ravi Krishna, Nadeesha,
Vijay, Nazar, Rajan P Dev,
Sreeman, etc…
The story starts as a normal
love subject in a college
campus at Dindugal, where
Ravikrishna(Ravi Shankar)
and Nadeesha(Sandhya) fall
in love with one another,
and Sandhya’s step
mom (Nalini) and her brother
opposing it.
However, Ravi Shankar’s
father (Nazar) fairly supports
their love and asks them
to leave for Chennai when
threat comes in the form
of Sandhya’s step
mom.
While the love pair was
away in Chennai, Ravi Shankar’s
father gets assaulted by
Nalini’s brother,
who vows to kill the love
pair too. But Nazar manages
to kill him with a kitchen
knife breathing his final
breath.
When we happen to think
that the threat for the
love pair is finally over,
the story suggests us that
it has just began. Sreeman,
a corrupt police officer
motivated by Sandhya’s
step mom, arrests Ravi and
forges a false murder charge
against him for killing
his own father and Sandhya’s
‘would be’.

Sandhya, who was left alone
in an unknown town, asks for
Sreeman’s help who in
turn redirects her to a criminal
judge. There she was attempted
for a gang rape by the Judge,
police officer Sreeman and a
minister’s son. Meanwhile
a good hearted police man releases
Ravi Shankar, and asks him to
save his love subject.
But in spite of Ravi Shankar’s
hardly heroic effort, Sandhya
is gang raped.
The dejected pair attempts for
a suicide, where they were saved
by Vijay, who calls himself
Sukran. Nobody knows who he
is, but our first impression
shows him as a rouge who wins
over other rouges. He advises
the pair, not to get dejected
upon the losses they have suffered
and asks them to overcome them
by starting a new life.
Hearing the advice of Sukran,
the pair breathes fresh air
and attempts for a life change
through hard work. While it
looks like they have literally
succeeded in their life, again
the Villains interfere with
their past.
The lady judge (Seetha) who
tries to help the pair out of
the problem was killed and announced
as suicide. Sandhya was accused
for prostitution and made to
stand in the court. Ravi Shankar,
who doesn’t have much
to do till now, could not bear
any more and shoots down the
corrupt judge, the corrupted
police officer, the minister’s
son and Sandhya’s step
mom who have come to testify
against Sandhya in the court.
He then escapes along with his
girl friend.
In the way they once again happen
to meet Sukran (Vijay) who helps
them out of trouble. Who is
Sukran? What is his profession?
How he helps the love pair from
such a situation was revealed
in the climax.
There are two item number skin
show song sequences from Ramba
and Ragasiya in this movie,
which was some what comforting
from the film’s confused
pace. Ramba seems much younger
and more glamorous in her song
sequence, and so is Ragasiya.
Shoba, who has been the backbone
of S.A.Chandrasekar’s
movies, brought out hit films
through her law and order exploited
stories. But this story was
disappointing to the core fact,
and sloppy logic.
Ravi krishna comes into this
movie straight awake from 7/G
Rainbow colony, and continues
to act the same childish character
from his previous venture. New
face Nadeesha is pleasant to
watch and actually acts some
part apart from glamorous scenes.
Vijay continues his impolite
dialogues against ‘someone’
in this film too. He also sets
a bad example for the youths
who follows him, by drinking
the coke infected with rum in
every possible scene. He looks
sleepy even in the fight scenes.
The only plus point for the
movie is the top notch music
from Vijay Antony. All the songs
were Excellent with fast and
rhythmic music.
Screenplay is one of the things
to be commented about. The initial
screenplay involving the love
pair was good and reminded some
youthful scenes from the movie
Boys, the sudden transition
from the love subject to a serious
tragedy was somewhat unexpected,
yet acceptable. The only thing
that nudges most was the mixture
of comedy, seriousness and adamant
scenes grinded again and again
in the final phase, which makes
the screenplay one of the worst
in its class.
Directional mistakes:
Ravi krishna is shot in his
thigh part in the court scene.
He manages to stumble down and
run away with his lover. Later
when he is on the roads, one
can see that he casually runs
along without any difficulty
affecting his leg.
Verdict: A
would have been good movie,
if not for the screenplay.
