Although the story is contemporary,
the treatment lacks finesse.
To show a vulnerable hero
striking back at the baddies
needs certain strong images,
which the average viewer can
relate to. The film does not
have such situations and so
fails to evoke a strong emotional
audience response.
Ajith has
performed well and Trisha
as his love interest is just
fine. She would do better
to improve her dance. Charanraj
and newcomer Pavan have done
excellently and Vijayakumar
has given a dignified portrayal.
Venkat Prabhu as the hero’s
friend and Telugu actor Vinod
Alva as the sympathetic police
officer have turned in good
performances. Vidyasagar’s
music is soothing. The duet,
”Engo Koil Mani”
is lilting. Arthur Wilson’s
cinematography and Maniraj’s
art direction are great assets.
