Controversial director S.J. Surya who gave hits like Vaali, Kushi and New is back in the news with his latest film Best Friend. PMK leader Ramadoss and DPI leader Thirumavalavan are in the forefront of a protest against English in the titles of Tamil movies. In the latest incident, Thirumavalavan protested that BF(Best Friend) was obscene and should be changed. When shooting for the movie was going on at VGP Golden Beach, Chennai a posse of TPI workers shouted slogans and wanted Surya to discuss the issue with Thirumavalavan. Surya said,” I have chosen an apt title for the movie and it is not suggestive. I tried to talk to Thirumavalavan but he was not reachable.” The shooting continued with police protection.
