After Baba’s
debacle, this can be Rajini’s
comeback vehicle. The film’s
audio release was a subdued
affair although the songs
said to music by Vidhaysagar
(this is his first film for
Rajini) are already topping
the charts. Rajini’s
film’s have a memorable
music score. This film will
be an addition to his trophies.
Vidhaya sagar has a unique
musical style and Asha Bhosle
has also sung a number. One
of the songs was shot in exotic
locales of Turkey. The film
is directed by P Vasu who
directed Rajini in Mannan
and Ulaipazhi and
has a forte for sentimental
touches in story telling.
The title song has been penned
by Veteran Vaali instead of
favorite mascot Vairamuthu.
The film is produced by Prabhu
on behalf of Shivajij productions.
Prabhu also act in the film.
Rajini’s female lead
is new comer Nayanthara. It
will be her tough outing for
her and we hope the youngster
has done creditably. Jyothika
plays Prabhu’s wife.
Jyo is a classical dancer
with a Psycological disorder
which makes her behave strangely.
She is castigated as a women
possessed by evil spirit.
The traditional approach of
seeing god men and witch hunters
is contrasted with scientific
approach of using medical
treatment under a psychiatrist
played by Rajini. Vadivelu
who plays Rajini’s assistant
provides comic relief and
is a dominant fixture in the
film. Vineeth who was seen
in Devadai, and May
Madham also stars in
the film. Malayalam siren
of Yesteryears Sheela is doing
a role in a Rajini film after
a long break; Hope Chandramukhi
hit the jack pot.
