Vijaykanth, Napoleon, S.S.
Chandran, Sarathkumar and
Radharavi have been nominated
again as the office-bearers
of South Indian Film Actors
Guild. But the trust which
maintains the properties and
finances of the Guild has
old hands R.M. Veerappan,
M.A.M. Ramasamy, Kannada superstar
Rajkumar, Telugu icon Nageswara
Rao as the trustees. Tamil
actors apparently have an
upper hand in the Guild. Hurt
by the recent protests in
Karnataka led by Rajkumar
against screening non-Kannada
films, Tamil movies cannot
be released there. In such
a scenario, a section of the
officebearers were of the
opinion that Rajkumar should
be relieved of his trusteeship.
Vijaykanth is reportedly in
favor of reorganizing the
trust management after obtaining
resignation of all the trustees.
Captain and his coterie have
won a second round in the
Guild. Will he do the same
in the Guild’s trust?
Let’s wait and see.
