In Tamil industry, there are several musts for a mainstream film like flavorsome dialogue, song and dance sequences, fight scenes etc. - the more grandiose the setting, the better. Nevertheless we had some venturesome productions like Pesum padam, which did not have any dialogues at all. A new film titled Aanai starring Arjun and Namitha has broken the mould and done away with duets. Yes, there are no songs filmed on the hero and heroine. However, some still photographs for the film’s promos were shot on the lead pair. This is indeed a milestone especially in today’s milieu.
