Rambha’s aunt Jothi started production on Thakadimitha starring her younger brother Yuvakrishna. The film has a dance-oriented story. Ankitha is the female lead. Vivek and Thejasri are also in the cast. Selvabarathi, an assistant of Sundar C. has written the story and dialogues. Sundar C. agreed to direct the movie for Rs. 1.2 crores. The production cost at the end of the first schedule was a whopping Rs.1.6 crores. The director also demanded another crore to finish the movie. While the producer hunted for funds, Sundar left for shooting his next venture, London. Once the producers agreed to pay up the sum, Sundar refused to return without finishing London and they approached Selvabarathi. But Selva had agreed to do Anbe Vaa and so he declined. Now, he had some problem with the producers of AV and so he dropped out. Finally, the producers agreed to pay ten thousand rupees per day to Selva to finish Thakadimitha. It is ironic that Selva had taken Rs. 4 lakhs separately for penning the dialogues. Sundar and Selva have both made moolah and the producer is left in the lurch. Although Selva has directed the major portions the title credits show Sundar.
