A film by name Pacchai Manidhan was proposed for the Cauvery welfare scheme. According to news sources the film was funded entirely by the people. Movie tickets with a Ten rupees price tag each was sold to the people and was announced that the film will be shot from that money.

But recently an accusation was made that the Pacchai Manidhan team had closed their working office and the money collected from the people was swindled. As popular directors such as Cheran and others are involved in the funding scheme, there was a lot of expectations on this matter's true story.

In order to shed some light upon the matter the director of the movies Sarath Sathya was approached. He said that, apart from moving the working office from Cheran’s place there was nothing true from what we have heard.
