Kamal Haasan contributed a column article to a leading daily over the weekend to mark 25 years of the classic film Nayakan. The article was full of insights into the pre-production and the filming and will serve as worthy pieces of trivia for fans of the film.
But one person seems to have been irked by some of the statements in that article. Renowned producer-director Muktha Srinivasan has reportedly filed a case against Kamal for the statements made against him in the write-up. Kamal had expressed his ‘frustration’ over the producer's interferences, restrictions and limitations that were set with respect to things like the budgets and film stock amongst others.
The actor did also gave credit to the producer by saying that his working style instilled a lot of drive in the team to deliver a strong product. He also credited the producer for coming up with the scene where the young Saranya prepares for her exam in the brothel.
The case filed against Kamal will surely come as a rude shock to the actor and others involved with the film, especially at a time when the entire fraternity is rejoicing the 25th anniversary of this masterpiece of a film.
