Soundarya R Ashwin’s Kochadaiyaan, starring super star Rajinikanth is one of the most awaited films of the year. Considering the vast fan base Rajinikanth has in the country and abroad, the Indian trade analysts speculate that it could be one of the biggest grosser in India.
Meanwhile, Soundarya in a recent interview with a foreign television channel disclosed few very interesting tidbits about the film. The daughter of Rajinikanth is sure that the film will be a trend setter in India. “Animation is still new in India and it is considered as cartoon and just for children, which it is not,” opened up the young director, who is on a mission to clone her father Rajinikanth through computer graphics and immortalize him. She is not making creatures with long tails and disfigured features in this film. “I’m recreating an actor who is so famous, and whose mannerisms, body languages and talking style are so rooted in the audiences’ head that it needs to be him as he is”, said Soundarya, who is introducing performance capturing technology in India through this film.
She also said that the film is being made to suit Indian sensibilities and with a lot of songs and dance sequences. AR Rahman has already started recording the songs for the film and in an earlier interview the Oscar winner too had explained that the music plays a major part in the movie.
The film is being captured by cinematographer Rajiv Menon. Deepika Padukone, Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Rukmini Vijaykumar, Nassar and Aadhi form the rest of the cast list. The film will probably hit the screens in December and will be released in Tamil, Hindi, English and Japanese to make it reach the global audience.
